Cheryl Hill lays it all on the line with her sixth CD release Transitions. Transitions is a compilation of 10 songs from her previous 5 self-released albums, one brand new song, Get Your Green On, about living green by eating green, and a rockin’ cover of Rage Against The Machine’s Guerrilla Radio.
Cheryl Hill, a self proclaimed “greenivore”, has the fortitude, the looks, and the ability to rock. Her influences: Queensryche, Ozzy, and Metallica. Her passion: Green Activism. You know she doesn’t mess around. Cheryl’s music is energetic, dominant with surging guitars and world-wise lyrics delivered by her strong and powerful voice. JAM Magazine quotes: “Cheryl’s vocals are strong in that very impassioned Pat Benatar style.”
Growing up Cheryl never lived in one city long enough to put down roots. This has given her music the tension which writer’s call “an inspiring ride, from brakes to blastoff” and “pure melodic rhythms that take hold of your body.” High school saw Cheryl identifying with the “metal heads”. She liked the message of the music and found its adrenalin-driven aura addictive. When she was handed an electric guitar by her best friend her passion found a voice. Inspired by Randy Rhoads, Kirk Hammet, Chris DeGarmo, and Michael Wilton, she writes her own “thinking woman’s music”.
“There has always been an overall theme of self-reliance and individuality associated with my songs,” Cheryl says, “I like to make people think, open their minds and challenge their beliefs. I have adopted the motto, ‘To thine own self be true.’”
While Cheryl’s first love is her music, her new passion is all about the green. She lives the environmental, vegan, raw and living foods lifestyle. Sammy Hagar is the “Red Rocker”, Cheryl Hill is the “Green Rocker”. She’s a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in association with Columbia University and is board certified Holistic Health Counselor and member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She’s the founder and director of her own practice Vegan Wellness, and lives the raw vegan lifestyle.
Cheryl is also passionate about TV and film production, and while living in New York City (2006/2007) she produced and hosted 26 episodes of Vegan Wellness TV on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. Now residing in Austin, Texas, Cheryl produced several health related DVDs with holistic healers and raw vegan chefs from Austin. She also co-hosts an online TV show with her partner Chef Alicia Ojeda, EZ Raw Food 101 TV.
In June of 2009, Cheryl had a soul analysis astrocartology reading with spiritual alchemist Chavah Aima. The reading had a profound affect on Cheryl and she decided to change her name to Astrum Lux Lucis and form a new musical project, One World (R)evolution.
"My music has always focused on self-empowerment and positive messages, so the transition to becoming Astrum Lux Lucis & One World (R)evolution is a natural part of my evolution as a spiritual being in a physical body." She says, “if I can get people to think, and think deeply about their lives and what they truly want out of life, I feel I will have succeeded in being the change I wish to see in the world.”
